you'll need:

1 tablespoon pine nuts, lightly toasted
Salt
1/2 cup orzo pasta
1 tablespoon pesto sauce
2 tablespoons freeze-dried grated Parmesan cheese

Pack all the ingredients separately.

on the trail:

Cook pasta in a salted, boiling water until al dente, for about 7–9 minutes or according to package instructions.
Remove from the heat and drain water off.
Blend in pesto sauce and nuts; sprinkle with Parmesan.

 

Notes: To toast pine nuts: Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat. Add pine nuts and cook, stirring frequently, for about 3 minutes, or until golden. Remove from the heat and leave to cool.
