Hot Cranberry Orange Drink

Hot cranberry orange drink spiced with cinnamon and cloves is perfect to sip on during the cold months.

you'll need:

1 teaspoon cranberry powder (preferably organic)
1 slice dried orange slice
2 cloves garlic
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons whiskey (optional)
1 teaspoon honey or to taste

at home:

Mix cranberry powder, dried orange slice and spices in a small zip lock bag.
Pack honey and whiskey separately.

on the trail:

Pour cranberry-orange drink mixture into a pot.
Add 1 cup water and bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally,  for about 5 minutes.
Remove from the heat.
Add honey and whiskey, stir well.
Serve hot.

Notes: For “home” version of this drink replace dried orange with the fresh one.
For non-alcoholic version exclude whiskey from recipe.
