you'll need:

2 cups rolled oats
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons canola oil
2 tablespoons chia seeds
1 cup dehydrated sliced apples, chopped
8 tablespoons full cream milk powder (Nestle Nido) (*Note: for vegan and lactose-free versions replace full cream milk powder by coconut or almond milk powder)

at home:

Preheat oven to 160C/320F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine oats, cinnamon, honey and oil in a bowl; stir until thoroughly coated.
Place granola mixture on a baking sheet; roast for 30-40 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool.
Toss dried apples and chia seeds into granola; mix well.
Divide granola into 4 equal portions and pack into separate zip lock freezer bags.
Add to each portion 2 tablespoons of powdered milk and seal the bags.

on the trail:

Bring to boil 1/2 water.
Pour hot water to granola, stir to combine.

Freezer bag method:

Bring 1/2 cup water to a boil.
Carefully pour hot water into the bag with the granola mixture.
Stir well and enjoy!
