Cranberry Orange Granola

you'll need:

2 cups rolled oats
1 tablespoon brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
zest of one medium orange
2 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 bar dark chocolate (70% cacao) (about 100g/3.5oz), broken into chunks
1/2 cup dried cranberries
8 tablespoons full cream milk powder (Nestle Nido)

at home:

Preheat oven to 160C/320F.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Combine oats, sugar, cinnamon, salt, orange zest, honey and oil in a deep bowl; stir until thoroughly coated.
Place granola mixture on a baking sheet; roast for 30 minutes, until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
Toss dark chocolate and cranberries into granola; mix well.
Divide granola into 4 equal portions; put them into separate, small-sized zip-lock freezer bags.
Add to each portion 2 tablespoons of powdered milk and seal the bags.

on the trail:

Pour granola into a bowl.
Add 1/2 cup of hot or cold water; stir well and enjoy!

Freezer bag method:

Bring 1/2 cup water to a boil.
Carefully pour hot water into the bag with the granola mixture.
Stir well and enjoy!
