Dehydrating123: How To Dehydrate Strawberries

Dehydrated strawberries are fantastic on cereals both hot o cold or, as a crisp and healthy hiking snack, or in a delicious sauce for your sweet treat on the trail. They are the perfect ingredient for gluten-free, dairy-free and sugar-free backpacking meals.

How to dehydrate strawberries

Step 1
Wash and rinse strawberries under cool running water.  Remove and discard green cups.

Step 2
Slice about  1/2 inch so they aren’t too thin and fragile once dried.

Step 3
Arrange sliced strawberries on dehydrator trays in a single layer.

Step 4
Dry at 135F/57C  for 6-14 hours (depends on dehydrator type) until leathery or crispy dry (as you like).

Step 5
Store dried, cooled fruits in airtight containers or ziplock bags away from direct light or heat.
