Skye Trail Journal 2015: Day 5
Date: 29th April, Wednesday
Route: Portree – Sligachan – Carbost
Distance: 19km
Had a good night sleep we went down to the hotel restaurant. Full Scottish breakfast fueled us up for the rest of day. The weather looked much better.
We left Portree and the first 3 km out of the village we went along the main road. We cross the bridge over the Varragill River and turned to the small country road.

Soon the coastline came into view. We followed the sign east to Sligachan along the shores of Loch Sligachan for about 6 km.

Near the Sligachan hotel, we caught a bus N. 54, which drove us to Carbost, a village on the south shore of Loch Harport.
We stayed in the Old Inn B&B. Popular with locals as well as tourists and hill walkers. The Old Inn offers a warm highland welcome to all including dogs. CAMRA recommended, the real ales flow and award winning food is freshly prepared and served.
